I'm an organizer of a national board game tournament circuit called
The Great Canadian Board Game Blitz:
http://www.gcbgb.ca/The tournament is an 8-hour, multi-round, qualifier style for the finals which take place each year at FanExpo in Toronto. There are a lot more details on that web site.
We've been holding tournaments at Canadian game conventions for just under a year now. We've hosted and will be hosting qualifiers in Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston, Windsor, Toronto, and Hamilton. We're hoping to (eventually) expand to include western Canada.
