The WCP gaming club organizes and runs a game day once a month at the legion at 43rd and Fraser (Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada, 5896 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC) in the basement from 11:30 until 11:30 at the first Saturday of the month (except when it falls on a long weekend it usually goes to the 2nd).

This next month's game day is August 7th.  The cost is $10 which includes tables and terrain to play on, money goes to paying the venue cost and any extras goes towards buying more terrain for people to play with.  I'm going to keep plugging away at some of the worldworks himmveil sets I've bought to try to get it up to a 3'x3' table for Malifaux games.  If I finish that escapade, I may start work on a western style table (especially if worldworks' deadfall comes out) and we've got lots of terrain that we use for fantasy and 40k terrain that's also appropriate.

The legion isn't so far from downtown, you should come check us out, like I said there are about 5 regulars to our game day's that have gotten crews so no shortage of people to play against.

Hmm, I might just do that. I have yet to start though, so unless people want to teach and supply a crew, I'm going to have to bow out of this month's meet.

As for terrain, waiting for my terrain to arrive, and putting together a goth city board (Not warhammer 40k style), which should work for Malifaux. And I'm pretty excited to see this Malifaux terrain coming up.

Is it just Malifaux that day, or other games too?

We play anything, the space has enough room to do 12+ 4'x6' tables, most the game days have about 6-8 Warhammer Fantasy players, 3-5 Warhammer 40k Players, 5 Malifaux players, with some board games tossed in for kicks (Descent was played at the last game day).

Many of the players bring armies for multiple systems (ie I bring Skaven (Fantasy), Dark Eldar(40k), Lady Justice Crew(Malifaux)) so our turn out is 10-15 people typically, with enough tables to keep them all busy.  Then we go upstairs in between games for the occasional pint Wink

EDIT: The age group for most coming is in the 25-40 range, so it's a pretty mature crowd.  That being said just because it's at a legion don't think under-agers are excluded, we play in the basement not in the bar section.

Veskit, that sounds pretty awesome.

Like I said, I'll probably miss this one (unless I can get a malifaux crew set up in time). But I'll be sure to check the next one.

If you want to show up anyways, I'm more than happy to loan out my Justice crew and I think there will be a few people willing to show you how to play.  While you're playing I'll just play a game of 40k Wink

Got the Victoria starter box and rulebook (couldn't find the cards though) for Malifaux, so it looks like I might be joining you guys in August.

Couldn't find a roninn blister though...

The cards just help for knowing what suit is what, any deck of playing cards with 2 jokers will do, just make sure to clearly mark which is black and red.  I've made up a summary card you can download here:
http://www.wcp-vancouver.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=7496

It has the suits conversion on the bottom right corner.

Hey that's perfect! You rock!

Now I just got to get the rest of my group to join in so I can get some regular games going.

So I've got my two crews, got my two decks and got a rulebook.

I'm interested in trying some games out now, any day people meet at a store to play, or does anyone want to just make a game day? Can be at a store or someone's place.

This weekend is no good for me, but maybe next Sunday over at Connections games?  (Right at Renfrew skytrain)  I'll have 3 crews by then, Lady Justice, Ramos and Kirai (had someone ninja shop for me at Gencon)

I play as well, I have Arcanists(A 50 point or so Cult of December crew, and a friend grabbed my a 40 point or so Showgirl crew with all the prereleases from Gencon), I live downtown, but currently due to injury I am not too mobile, but I'll be looking for some gaming at the end of the month.

I am not sure how the Rules really work but Lord Chompy Bits and the Dreamer look really interesting, as well as Kirai and her spirit crew.
