Learn the basics of airbrushing in a small classroom-style setting.

We have brought in Scott Hall, our regular airbrushing instructor, to tutor a small group on the how-to’s of using an airbrush.

This event will take place in our “Games Room”, near the model section

COST: $10 per participant (please pre-register in-person, of possible)

It’s been a long time since we had one, so we thought we’d better set up an in-store miniatures painting demo!

Our demo partner, Reaper Miniatures Black Lightning Team Member, Beth Rimmer, will supply everything necessary - paints, brushes, cleaned and primed miniatures (also stuff like paper towel, palettes and such).

Beth will be on hand to give tips, demos, answer questions, etc. If people wish to bring their own miniatures or brushes, that’s cool, but not necessary.

Everyone is welcome, all ages, and all levels of painting experience.

We will have enough miniatures for up to 12 people, so please pre-register with the store.

We are holding our second annual miniature-painting contest. Start working on your entries now!

Here are the six Categories.

SciFi / Modern 25 to 30mm scale

1 - One Large Item – EG. Vehicle, monster etc. Base size; smallest 50mm base to largest 8inch diameter
2 - Squad of five troops Base size; individual base size 40mm or less

Fantasy / Historical 25 to 30mm scale

3 - One large Item – EG. Monster etc. Base size; smallest 50mm base to largest 8inch diameter
4 - Regiment of five troops Base size; individual base size 40mm or less

Small Scale 15mm or smaller

5 - Five to Eight items – EG stands of infantry and/or tanks.

Speed Painting

6 - Bring down a primed up figure, paintbrushes and some paints. You will have from 2pm to 4pm to complete your entry. We will provide a basic selection of paints. At 4pm we will decide a winner.

We will select one winner for each category and they will receive a prize. There will also be two random draws for prizes from all entrants, so everyone has a chance to win.

All figures MUST be entered before 12pm on Saturday October 4th. (You may drop your figures off anytime in September)

Awards will be given at 4pm Saturday October 4th.

Come down and see the figures on display, from 12pm to 4pm we will be gathering votes from our spectators for an extra customer vote category!

Warhammer Fantasy requires alot of models, at most tournaments you play games with up to 130 or more models. We are starting a low point value low model count store event to get new and old players into playing more regularly. The idea is over time you will add points to your army and make it bigger and have a motivation to do so.

We will be starting with 1000 points and every month adding about 250 points to build up your armies. Giving a chance to plan and play an army and slowly get use to it. With other people in the event you will be able to play against different forces and meet new players. If you have any question talk to Ryan or Roland at the Comicshop.

Sign up to learn Air Brush techniques for your war-gaming miniatures. This event will be hosted by award winning miniature painter Sam Harrap. Stop by the shop to check out the spectacular models Sam has on display.

This event is free. But space is limited to ten people so please sign up in advance.

You do not require anything to participate but should bring a notebook to help you remember everything!

Model figure build and paint day!

Come down to learn how to build or paint your figures. We will offer you advice and give you tips to improve your modelling skills!

Do you have models that need to be assembled and painted? If you do then come down make yourself comfortable and make it happen. There will be glue, some tools and company for jabbering with. If you need any assistance there will be Ryan on hand to help you.

Metaorganizations: Church of Geshtai, Order of Kwalish and Royal Navy of Zeif. A one-round Zeif regional adventure for PCs level 1-3.

Dungeons and Dragons RPGA EventPlease refer to the www.rpga.com for character rules. You will need a copy of the player’s handbook 3.5 & dice to participate. If you don’t have a character there will be some pre-generated character for you to choose from. Sign up fast, space is limited.

Model figure build and paint day

Calling all Dungeon crawlers from across the land! Enter your best-painted Dungeon crawling adventure party and tell us who they are! This is a two-part contest with great prizes - You must enter both categories to participate.

Category One
You must enter four figures. The figures have to represent four fantasy adventurers from any background. You may use any type of models you wish. We suggest using Games Workshopís Warhammer Fantasy Battle or Lord of the Rings models, or Reaperís Dark Heaven models. For this category you will be judged on the quality of you painting.

Category Two
Along with your painted figures you must submit character sheets (from your favourite Role-playing game) for your adventuring party. For this category you will be judged on party theme and background detail.
